Honing also removes stock from the inside diameter of a work piece, but internal grinding is preferred in instances where the ID must be concentric with the OD or perpendicularity to a surface must be achieved.
Applications include sleeves, bushings, collars, retainers, washers, bearing housings, gears, and precise holes in stamped parts.
